Annual Giving Campaign!

As Darla Livingston, PILLAR volunteer and perpetual student says,

“What you believe in, you have time for; what you believe in you have money for.”

We know you believe in PILLAR and its mission to offer educational programs to the retirees and other interested individuals in the Pikes Peak Region.  It takes more than luck to keep PILLAR afloat.  Class fees are kept modest in order to make classes affordable, thus class fees do not cover all the operating expenses and allow little room for growth.  We hear from you what a great asset PILLAR is to the community and how it has enhanced your life.  We need you to help support this valuable educational program today and for the future.  All contributions are tax-deductible.

Keep us in mind when developing your estate plan so you can leave a legacy of support to maintain PILLAR’s existence for years to come.  PILLAR will continue to serve a rapidly increasing number of retirees over the next years.

Another way to make a contribution is through a stock transfer.  PILLAR has a brokerage account through Wells Fargo and can accept a tax-deductible transfer of the stock of your choice.  Contact your broker to learn more about this great opportunity.

The PILLAR Board of Trustees has set the goal of reaching an annual giving campaign target of $50,000 for 2007.  You helped us reach our 2006 annual giving campaign goal of $35,000 and we thank you.

We greatly and gratefully appreciate your contributions.  This year we need to be more aggressive with fundraising, which will allow PILLAR to accomplish the goal of hiring a full-time office manager and a part-time development director.

With enthusiasm,
Bonnie jw Riley,
Founding Executive Director

Join the PILLAR Platinum Club

In conjunction with the annual giving campaign, PILLAR is developing a Platinum Club.  For those who contribute $1000, we will add your name to the Platinum Club Member list in each quarterly PILLAR Preview beginning with the spring issue, send you coupons for twelve free two-hour classes (three each quarter) that you can use personally or give as a gift to a friend, and we will add you to our member list so you can attend all the member-only events in 2008. Plus, you will be invited to some Platinum Club Member events arranged just for you.  You receive a tax-deduction of $750 as a single person and $700 as a couple as a result of your Platinum Club Membership.

Did you retire from a company that offers volunteer incentives?

Exxon/Mobil is one example of a company that offers a Volunteer Incentive Program. For each twenty hours of volunteer service to a non-profit organization per quarter, they donate $500 to the recipient organization. Be sure to contact the firm you retired from, even if they have since been re-organized or purchased by another company. They just may have a similar program. We are happy to work with you to explore this opportunity. It is a great way to volunteer and raise money for PILLAR.
